THE QUEST FOR A MEDALLION CONTINUES!!

SOME THOUGHTS FOR YEAR SIX!!

Choose at least two words to describe how you think you may feel if you were to be presented with your medallion.

Tell me three reasons why you think our "Award System" is a positive thing.

Are there any disadvantages of our Token Award System?

Can you think of a 'catchy' name for our award system?

Did you know that your parents/family are invited to the medallion presentation assembly and to an afternoon tea with Mr B and yourself?

Do you think that this is a positive way to recognise the achievement of being awarded the medallion?

Can you think of any ways in which the award system could be improved?

If you are to be awarded a Principals Medallion before leaving our school where do you think you might keep it - and why do you think this would be the best place to keep it?

I would feel over the moon
I would feel proud of myself

There are levels which in my opinion I think is a great idea
We get rewarded for our good work
We get a fantastic prize if we succeed

Teachers pay attention to the people who are doing the wrong thing and not on the people who are doing the Wright thing

Try
On
Koncentrating, so
Enjoy
Now

No I didn’t and I think it is a fab idea
Yes I do it is so much better then an afternoon tea that lasts for 2 minutes

Any people that have a pacific amount of tokens get a free 1dollar gift voucher at the canteen

I would keep it in my families award cabinet so everyone can see the work I put into earning this award

Q.1. I would be embarrassed because of my mother (scary) and happy because all that work paid off.

Q2.1 because the younger people concentrate more.2 because when we leave this school we have something to have to remember the school.3 because we can have two even before we leave.

Q3.Yes because the teachers don’t hand out enough tokens.

Q4. TheTC challenge. I think that name is pretty cool.

Q5. Yes that’s heaps exciting.

Q6. Yes defiantly it is a very positive way to be awarded something.

Q7. um no not really it is pretty good the way it is now!

Q8. I would give it to my mum and she would place it in a safe place so I can look at it when I want to and not to loose it. Because my mother always knows the right place to put valuable things.

*The two words I would feel would be excited and very special!!

*1 reason I think the token award system is a good thing is that it’s better for little kids and to behave good.
*The 2nd reason is that some kids want to be rewarded for their achievement.
*The 3rd reason is that kids like to be up on a good level on their learning!
No I do not think there are any advantages on our reward system except that I think that there should be a shorter way how to get to the principles award.
‘Kids verses medallion’!
yes
Yes I do its great for everyone happen to achieve this far!
To make it not as far to the Principles medallion.
On my cupboard next to my mirror because every time I would look in the mirror I would think ‘oh primary school’.

I felt very exited and honored because I was the first student to receive a medallion for 2007.
I think it’s a positive thing because it gives all students the opportunity to receive a series of awards, Gives students something to strive for and gives students the chance to receive the most highly recommended award in the school.
I do not see a problem with this award system.
I think that a good name would be the great token challenge.
Yes I was aware that I would attend an afternoon tea and that my parents would attend the assembly.
Yes I think it is because the achievement is huge and that every one should know about it.
No I don’t think so this award system is great.
I will keep my medallion in with all my other awards. I think this because it is I like all my awards together.

If I got a Madelyn I would be very happy.
We can be rewarded for doing good things. So we can be rewarded if you get a 5 assistant award. I think it is a good idea.
No.
No.
Yes.
Yes it is a good idea.

In my room because it is a very good place to hide it.

When I get a medallion I will be so happy and excited.
It’s a positive thing because kids will do the right thing.
NOI do not think so.
NO I think the one we got is fine.
NO I did not know.
YES I do think this is a positive way to receive a medallion.

Q1. I would be embarrassed when my parents would jump up and scream and I would be honored to be awarded a medallion with my name engraved on it

Q2. I think the reward system is a positive and rewarding way for doing the right thing
The reward that you get for earning tokens is a really nice reward
It is a fun way for being rewarded

Q3. There are disadvantages because all the teachers give out different amounts of tokens and when there is a relief teacher they don’t always give out tokens

Q4. I think a catchy name for our token award system is………………… “Principals token challenge”

Q5. Yes because E.S parents came and embarrassed him and he told all of us in class

Q6. I think this is a positive way for kids to show their full potential and get a reward for doing just that

Q7. I think the reward system could be improved by giving out more tokens for everyday expectations and sportsmanship

Q8. I would keep my medallion and I would keep it up in a high place were no-one could break it and loose it anywhere

To describe how I would feel I got a medallion in two words is going to be hard. Ok I would have mixed emotions, id be happy, privileged and honored.

I think the awards system is a great thing to get people to aim or strive for. It’s great to hear other children talking about how they received a token. I think it’s a cool system for our school to have.
An advantage is that there is so many tokens we have to get to receive a medallion.

A name could be “the great medallion maze”

Yes I knew about the afternoon tea thing think its cool.

Yep I totally think it’s a great way to recognize the system.

Id keep my medallion on show so every one can see!!!

I would feel excited, proud and happy.

It is a positive thing because we get rewarded for the great things we do in class and for other people and we get a bigger award if we do really good.

We don’t get many tokens during the time we are working or doing good things.

‘Working Awards’

No I didn’t and I think it is a great idea.

Yes, because we have to try and achieve the right amount of tokens to be awarded the medallion.

Getting more tokens during class.

I would keep it in a big chest type thing with all of my other school things.

The two words that I would use is embarrassed if my mum and dad were there and honored to reach that high in the*It is a good thing because it convinced children to reach a higher goal
*Some people want to achieved and get that Medellin so they ca have it as a memory when there older.
* Children learn more and want to get the token system.
The teachers are paying more attention to the people who are doing the wrong thing and not the people who are doing the right thing.
Get the medallion
Yes because I told mum and dad as soon as the token thing started.
Definitely
For all the year 6 people to get even if they haven’t finish.
I would keep it in my room on the top shelf to keep it as a memory.

Two feelings I would express while receiving a principals medallion
would have to be astonishment and I would feel very ecstatic. Tell me
three reasons why you think the "Token Award System" is a
positive thing. Three reasons I think the schools token reward system
was a fantastic Idea would be 1. They would work more cooperatively and
quietly due to the fact that if they work well they will get a token
which is one more step closer to getting a medallion. 2. They will
treat others with respect and kindness on the play ground and in class.
3. They will behave in order to get a token. No, well not as I know but
I do not think there are any disadvantages in the token reward system
Due to that kids/students will behave and will learn moreSorry no there
are no catchy names that I can think of for our token reward system.
Maybe you will have more luck asking E.T so ask him not me.Well I did
now that our family could come to a assembly for our medallion But I
had no idea about the afternoon tea with Mr .B But I found out earlier
this week from E.SWhy wouldn’t it I think it makes students realize
that they are doing some thing good and they are achieving something
here at school. No I cant think of any improvements except that you can
be awarded a day off school [Parents may not approve of this] But I
think it is a fantastic idea.If I were awarded a principals medallion I
would store it in a trophy cabinet in my bedroom I would do this
because it is very special to me.

I would fell excited and happy.
1. Kids will sensible
2. Kids will do the right thing
3. Kids won’t be bad because they will want to get a token!
No not that I no of.
Sorry no I can’t try asking someone else.
I knew they could come to the assembly. But I did not even know that there was an afternoon tea at least not until the other day.
Yes I do think it is a positive way.
No I can not sorry.
In a safe because it is a safe and secure place to keep it

Thanks so much for your feedback Year 6. We put these systems in place not really knowing if they will work or be attractive to you - the students. I now know that I have to encourage the teachers to use the token system more frequently as I know it will benefit not only individuals but also the school community as a whole. Thank you for embracing the system as you each day.
