IT'S ACADEMIC-WELL DONE YEAR SIX COMPETITORS

WHAT A FANTASTIC DAY WE HAD AT IT'S ACADEMIC - CONGRATULATIONS TO THE COMPETITORS AND THE AUDIENCE MEMBERS.

Did we learn anything whilst we were having so much fun? - Let's find out.

1) Why do you think that the contestants had to wear makeup?

2) There seemed to be a lot of camera men at the studio - I think that one camera man would have been enough. Do you agree or disagree with me? Dont forget to give reasons for your answers.

3) Contestants here's a question for you - were you able to see the audience members when you were competing? Was this a good or bad thing?

4) One episode of Its Academic is only on the T.V. for half an hour. Think of at least 3 reasons why it might take up to at least an hour to actually film an episode?

5) What was the most interesting part of your day? (Dont forget to include the reasons why it was interesting)

6) Do you think that a show like Its Academic is something that all schools should try to be part of?

7) Who now wants to be a televsion celebrtity?

8) It was exciting to see Jack from "Home and Away". He probably felt very excited that most of us knew who he was. Do you think that there would be a "down side" to being recognised by so many people?

IT’S ACEDEMIC
I think that the contestants had wear makeup because they needed the right skin tone for the cameras and they had to cover up any tired marks under our eyes because we had to be at school at 6.00am

No I disagree with this due to the fact that on the show we need to see different angles because it makes it more interesting than having to watch the whole half hour show looking at the one angle.

Yes we could see the audience members and yes it was a good thing because we got to see our school and they cheered and clapped for us who put our confidence and self esteem up to. But it was a bad thing to because they kept on talking and yelling out the answers which made us feel bad.

1: Because kids were calling out answers.
2: Simon kept on stuffing up.
3: The contestant’s buzzers didn’t work.

The most interesting part of the day was when we got to film our day. This was interesting because it was fun and it was cool to see how the other players went.

Oh of course yes because it is an amazing experience and it is so fun to see the set that you would usually see on your television screen it was even cool to have makeup put on me because I felt like a star

I would and I wouldn’t. I would because you would be famous and you would get paid a lot. I wouldn’t because I couldn’t stand one day with the paparazzi.

Yes because of the paparazzi and all the cameras my cheeks would hurt from smiling so much and you would constantly have to sign contracts and autographs which would also hurt my hand.

) Why do you think that the contestants had to wear makeup?

I think the contestants had to wear make up to make our faces look normal on camera instead of looking shiny.

2) There seemed to be a lot of camera men at the studio - I think that one camera man would have been enough. Do you agree or disagree with me? Don’t forget to give reasons for your answers.

I would have to disagree because all the camera men had to be there to shoot all the different angles.

3) Contestants here's a question for you - were you able to see the audience members when you were competing? Was this a good or bad thing?

We could see the audience but not very clearly. This was a good thing because they were always cheering us on.

4) One episode of Its Academic is only on the T.V. for half an hour. Think of at least 3 reasons why it might take up to at least an hour to actually film an episode?

It would take at least an hour to film an episode because everyone keeps making mistakes and messing up.

5) What was the most interesting part of your day? (Don’t forget to include the reasons why it was interesting)

The most interesting part of the day was when we were filming because you go into this giant room and ready to go onstage and it feels like you are in the assembly hall at school.

6) Do you think that a show like Its Academic is something that all schools should try to be part of?

I definitely do because it gives the kids a chance to show their abilities and a fun way to do just that

7) Who now wants to be a television celebrity?

Definitely all of us after being on the show!

8) It was exciting to see Jack from "Home and Away". He probably felt very excited that most of us knew who he was. Do you think that there would be a "down side" to being recognised by so many people?
I think there would be a down side to being a celebrity because no one would leave you alone and you would feel like you could not fit into being a normal person.

So that their face wouldn’t shine on camera

I disagree because we had to keep starting and stoping and they had to have lots of different views from the camera.

Yes we did because year 6 where holding up Ab’s signs which where very enthusiastic to us.

Because we had to keep starting and stoping because of TURKEY.

The whole experience of the day was great.

YES

ME!!!!

Yes because of paparazzi.

I think we learn a lot when we are having fun, do you agree Year 6? 'It's Academic' was a great opportunity to learn in a different environment. Learning isn't ment to happen just at school, these exciting opportunities offer so much. I agree with S.D as well, they are a chance to show how much you know as well. Sometimes we surprise ourselves as to how much knowledge we have inside our heads. It's nice to have it recognised in such a fun way. Congratulations to all our contestants and our fantastic cheer squad!

1. They had to wear makeup so there face wasn' shiney.
2. Disagree. they need more than one camera man so they can get people from different angles.
3. I was not a contestant I was in the audience.
4. The have to stop if the host makes a mistake. They have to stop if something is wrong with the buzzer. They have to stop if something is wrong with the camera.
5.Seeing a television studio and being in the audience.
6. Yes every school should have a go as it is fun.
7.I do but i like being in the audience as well.
8. Yes you would have people running up and wanting to hug you all the time like sarah did.
